Analysis:The Rearden Teacher

I am going to analyse the Rearden teachers: Mr. Dodge, Mrs. Jeremy, Miss Warren and the coach. I start with Mr. Dodge who is the “science teacher” from Arnold. Mr. Dodge isnt a real science teacher. When the school hasnt enough money they must take other teachers and make them to a science teachers (p. 94 ll. 16-22). He is against Indian because on p. 93 Arnold contradicted him. He gets very fast red in the face and angry. But as an other student says the same Mr. Dodge gets in two seconds from blood red to snow white  in the face (p.94 ll.12-13) and he says “thank you” to this answer (p.95 l.6).                                                                                          Mrs Jeremy is the Rearden social studies teacher. When she makes a side commment about Juniors frequent absencesm, Gordy leads the class in a demonstration of defiance against her. Miss Warren  is the guidance counselor. She is fifty year old (p.204 l.26) but she is still pretty hot. She is all skinny and muscular becuase she jogged all the time (p.204 ll.26-29). Miss Warren gives Junior the news of Marys death and she cries at the same time (p.201 l.21). She is very emotional. The Coach of Juniors basketball team at Rearden High school treat his team with dignity and respect (p.144 ll.17-19). Coach becomes an impotant father figure for Junior. He admires Juniors attidude and supports his talent and potential in basketball.

Diary Entry Rowdy

Dear diary,

today it was a strange day.I knew that Junior has many problems with his appearance. But when he told me about it in detail today, I was very shocked. I have to admit that the cartoon was funny and as always I was able to laugh about it. But I also had to talk about that with him. He admitted what he truly feels and how the bullying effects him. Junior told me that he tries to do not take it seriously but it still an effect on him. I always stay behind him and protect him. I find it good that he goes with a smile trough the world and not with a bad smile! He makes the best of his physical problems!

See you tomorrow 🙂
