In the first chapter, Junior says, “the only way to become rich and famous” is through his artwork (comp p. 15, l. 18). Therefore, I’m going to evaluate, if or if not, Junior could become rich and famous.

First of all, I do think that he can become rich and famous. Although he has disabilities. Other people rise to fame, too, and realise their hopes and dreams. If you take Vethany Hamilton, a surfer who had lost one of her arms after a shark attack, as an example, you can clearly see, that disabilities don’t always limit you. Just because she lost her arm, it didn’t stop her from surfing. And just because Junior looks weird and has seizures, that doesn’t mean, he can’t make it, too.

But Junior doesn’t seem to believe in himself. And if he graduates at Reardan High School, he is almost sure to have higher chances.

However, a good education doesn’t always matter that much to become rich and famous. Sometimes it depends on your skills a lot more. And Junior has these skills. He just needs to show them and not be ashamed of them.

In the following text I will comment on the quote that Junior says in first chapter: ” That is the only way I can become rich and famous” .

The first con argument is that Junior is an Indian and he is also sick, so he gets bullied by other people and nobody would be interested in looking at his cartoons. The problem about this is that, if nobody see his cartoons he cannot become famous and rich.

But Junior is funny because he makes jokes about himself and about his disease, which shows to people that handicap need not be something to be ashamed of and that the handicap can be advantage. This feature is also very imortant to be a drawer.

All in all i think taht his cartoons are very funny and they are also true, so his cartoons are good and I think that he, with a little bit of luck and lot of work, can become rich and famous. I also think that all people on the world sholud have dreams and they should follow their dreams. So my message is, work hard and believe in yourself so your dreams can become true.

Dear diary,

today i found a cartoon, Junior drew of himself. It shows him with his disabilities in a very exaggerated way and him making fun of himself. Junior told me how he feels about his disabilities and how he feels about himself. He said, he hates it that everybody picks on him and beats him up just because he is different. I totally understand him. Every time he gets beat up, I feel really bad for him because I see how defenseless and weak-minded Junior is and that because of that I always have to help him out. Not that I would mind. Junior is my best friend. He is the only person who understands me. But Junior doesn´t have any self-confidence when its about defending himself and I think he should learn being that for his own good. On the other hand I believe Junior´s life isn´t very easy and that he just has a struggle accepting himself as he is. I think that he thinks nobody likes him the way he is but that isn´t true. Well maybe I´ll try to convince him to accept himself.

Reffering to the cartoons, Junior says: ‘‘ That is the only way I can become rich and famous ‘‘, in the first chapter.

In the following text I will evaluate/comment on this quote.

To begin with, I would say that it is pretty hard to become famous as a cartoonist because there are many rivals so you have to be very good to be better than the others. Let’s suppose he is good enough in drawing I think that he wouldn’t dispite become famous because of his physical and emotional conditions. For example Junior has seizures. This could be a problem because when he would present one of his cartoons and has a seizure then the viewers would go away. However, I believe that his biggest problem would be his social background. Why?

Junior is an Indian so he gets bullied by others and nobody would be interested by looking at his cartoons. The problem: when nobody looks at his cartoons he cannot become famous.

All in all I believe that Junior cannot become famous as drawer because of his conditions and his social background.

In this comment I will discuss, if Arnold only can become famous and rich if he draws cartoons.

I think he can get famous with his cartoons, because most time they are very funny and have an interesting drawing style.When you argument that he has lower chances to get rich because he is an Indian, I would say that this cannot stop him .This is because I think this attribute can also help him, it makes him some kind of special and gives him a thing where you can think of HIM.

But I think there are also other ways he can get a better live than drawing Cartoons.The Source where we get all his information [“The Absolutely True Diary of a part-time Indian”] is the existing proof that there are also other possibilities: He can write down his live story and get famous and rich.

Dear diary,

today was a strange day… I knew that Junior has many problems with his appearance but when he told me about it more datailed today, I was very shocked. I have to admit that the cartoon was funny and as always I was able to laugh about it. I think it is a good help for Junior to tell his worries to somebody else , just to get it off his mind. I am that sure about it because after our little talk he already seemed to be a bit less sad. Although I am not really good at it, I’ll try to be a good friend and help for him because he means so much to me.

Today I saw a carton of Junior with big hands and feets and also with a skinny body.I was scared and sad about it that he draws himself in such a ugly and depressive  way.I think he should be more self-confident and happier,but I also know he is very sad because living in the rez and be so poor and his family,too!Another thing is the situation with Oscar.Oscar was Juniors best friend with me.Never the less I try to be the best friend for him and protect him as well.Maybe I say him that he should be happier and also self-confident.All in all he is my best friend and helps me a lot and I think he can do something because he is very powerfull,funny and intelligent.

today I found a cartoon of Junior. Normally I love his cartoons, because they are very funny and cool, but this cartoon has shocked me. It has shown Junior in a different way. In a ugly way. He has drawn himself with too big hands and feet, very skinny and his eyes were lopsided. Moreover there was a speechbubble which showed that he lisps and stutters. I think he sees himself too unattractive and I heared all too often how he said that he is a bastard and when I saw Junior’s cartoon I didn’t know what I could say too him. So I asked how he felt and why he drawed the cartoon thus. Junior responded that he has drawn the cartoon how he looks and he thinks that it is ok that he looks different.Also he said that he wishes or it would be easier to live in the rez when he would be prettier, but it is not so and he tries to live with his look. At the end he told me that make fun and draw cartoons about himself are the only ways to cope with his disabilitys. Certainly I get worried because of Junior, but I think it is  good or helpful for him to draw and furthermore he has me and I will always stand his side and I try that he forgets his problems by doing funny thing with me.

Dear diary,

I’ve got so much to tell you. Today, in the morning, I found a cartoon, Junior has drawn. I actually like his cartoons but this one shows him with very long arms and legs and feet and in a speechbubble above his head he shows his stutter ans lisp. I always knew that he doesn’t like himself that much but but I didn’t know that he sees himself like the bigges retard in the world.

A while after I found his cartoon, I went to his house and lalked with him about it. When I asked him about that cartoon, he first got angry, but after that he got weak and broke, so he told me everything. I would really like to help him, so that he can feel batter. I know that I can protect him from others, so that he doesn’t get bullied, but I can’t do anything else expect for listening to him.

I will report later or in a few days and I hope I can help him in any way.

I have to admit that the cartoon was funny and as always I was able to laugh about it. But I also had to talk about that with him. He admitted what he truly feels and how the bullying effects him. Junior told me that he tries to do not take it seriously but it still an effect on him. I always stay behind him and protect him. I find it good that he goes with a smile trough the world and not with a bad smile! He makes the best of his physical problems!
