In this Comment I will dicuss, wether I believe that Arnold could become rich and famous.

First I will state the con arguments. The first argument against to be famous and rich is his life in the rez. He must leave the rez to get a good education to become famous and rich. With that, he has disabilities wich could be a problem for him. Because of that he does not want to speak truly about his feelings.

On the other hand, his disabiliies could help him to get famous and rich. The people who do not live on the rez like people who are different. He draw quite interesting. It is not the type of drawing you expect. He is a person who wants to tell the world something. And trough his drawings it gets clear what he wants to tell. Arnold also has the oppotunity to leave the rez. Then maybe he is not getting bullied and he will get self-confident.

In my opinion, Arnold could become famous and rich. He is not an ordinary guy, and that makes him special. A special artist is alway loved by others. He will get fans, more fans. His drawings could become big because he draws different, but it looks very good. His drawings look as if the were the truth.

Dear diary,

I’ve got so much to tell you. Yesterday, I found a cartoon. Junior drew it and the cartoon shows him. This wouldn’t be anything surprising if he had drawn a normal cartoon. But he drew an ugly person, a retard with unnormal arms, feet, legs and everything. I never thought that he thinks that bad about himself. I mean, I always knew, he’s not happy with his looking but I never thought that he hates himself that much. So I was almost shocked. Today, I went to him to talk about his feelings. I’m really not good at feelings but Junior’s my best friend and I felt like I need to tell him that he isn’t that poor and ugly retard he had drawn.

So I went to him and asked him about the cartoon. I think, he was kind of embaressed first but then he tried to cover up his emotions with being angry. To be honest; I would have reacted completely the same.

So… He got angry and told me that this cartoon is private and I should deal with my own buisness. After a while of talking to him and telling him that I’m his best and only friend, so he is my buisness, he kind of broke; he lost all of his angryness amd was just sad.

I’ve never seen a person being as sad as him in this moment.

So we started talking about his sadness and he began to tell me things, I couldn’t believe. He told me, he feels that ugly an unnormal because he never made his family proud; he always just has problems. He said, he feels that bad beacuse I’m  his only friend and he always thinks about why he only has one friend. So he came to the conclusion that he has to be a foolish retard. I tried to tell him that it’s better to have just one, but good friend instead of twenty that don’t really like you.

So, to sum up, I tried to convince Junior that he is a great boy and friend by telling him our cool stories and why he made them and my life great.

I hope, he feels better now!

Dear diary,

today I found a cartoon from Junior and i was shocked when i saw it. He drew himself with lopsided eyes, a skinny body, big feet an big hands. I know that Junior has problems with his appearance, but i didn´t know that they are as big as they really are. I also have to say that the cartoon was also really funny, because it looked so strange! First I laughed about it but then it became clearly to me that Junior has a serious problem. Because of this I asked him about his problems, because I wanted to help him. Thus he told me about them and admitted what he felt in reality and how bullying effected him. He said that he tried not to take it seriously and didn´t hear to what the people said about him but it still had an effect on him. I thought I did my best to protect him but now I realize that I can not protective him all the time. I want to help him getting over his problems and I hope we will find a way together. I know it won´t become easy but I will do my best, because I´m his best friend.

Today I found a cartoon of Junior. He draw himself very skinny, with really big hands, feet and head, with many gabs between his teeth and very ugly glasses. After I saw this I asked him about his cartoon. He told me about all his disabilities and how he feels about it. At first I was really shocked. He never told me about his feelings. I knew he was beaten up often but I didn’t know that he suffers so much. I want to help him. But how? I know, I can’t change his outer appearance, but I can be a good friend and help him when he’s in trouble. I know he loves drawing. Maybe we can draw together to express our feelings. Maybe it helps him to become more self condfindent. We will see what happens in the future! I hope I can help him in some way!

This comment is about, whether I believe that Arnold could become rich and famous or if his disabilities are a problem for him. I am going to state pro and con arguments and present my own opinion.

An argument which pleads for the con side is that especially physical handicapped people often have problems by getting treated equally, because our society has a specific association with those human beings. We often tend to think that we are able to achieve things in a better and easier way than disabled people which is in my opinion a wrong way of thinking. Isn’t it our task to show those people that they can do things as good as we can? But as always there are folks who do not share those views. To feel more powerful or sometimes to be funny they prefer to bully people who are weaker than they are.  So I think that not necessarily the disabilities are a problem for people like Arnold to become rich and famous,  it’s us, the society and people who are making their lives harder than it already is.

So one of the main argument which supports the pro side is also that just because you are disabled in some way it doesn’t have to influence your strength. Even if you can’t walk, you’re still able to for example play basketball, which you can see on the Paralympics. Another aspect is that there many famous people with disabilities who have become very successful and rich by doing the things they were good about. Look at Steven Hawking (ALS) or Ludwig Van Beethoven (deaf) So why shouldn’t someone like Arnold also be able to get success by drawing cartoons. The most important thing is that those people have to be more ambitious because their disabilities can make their lives harder than the ones of people without. But I think that everything is possible, if you only work hard enough and have the right attitude.

So in my opinion Arnold could become rich and famous, because he has a talent for drawing and being funny. He only needs to focus on his dream, work hard for it and not let himself get “knocked”.
