The chapter is about Junior’s new school. He tells the reader about his geology class and the teacher Mr. Dodge, who is not very nice to Junior and does not believe that Arnold’s answer is right. Arnold explains too that his dad can not pick him up, because they have not enough money anyway and his dad is often in the casino. So Junior must walk at home. Sometimes he can take the bus, to go home, but since now he had to walk the twenty-two miles for three times already.

As Arnold was at home, he gets told that his sister gets married. Junior and his family are not very happy about the wedding, but marry really wants it and think that it is very romantic.

Back in school he talks to Gordy about being regular friends. The chapter ends with a new friend for Junior.
