Chapter 13

Summary of Chapter 13: “My Sister Sends me an E-Mail”

This chapter contains the E-Mail of Arnold’s sister, Mary, who is living in Montana now together with her husband for who she ran away from home.

She explains how happy she is and tells Arnold the reasons for that. Mary writes that she rode a horse for the first time and that she is applying for jobs at restaurants on the Flathead reservation, but hasn’t found one yet. She adds that this reservation is very big and has six or seven towns, which are filled with white people, too, though they don’t want to be a part of the reservation.  Mary tells his brother about her honeymoon and that their hotel had Indian fried bread which was almost as good as her grandmothers. She concludes by saying that dreams really do come true and that she is happy about everything in her new life right now.
